Addison Lee Opening

17th July 2017

Shailesh Vara MP has officially opened Addison Lee’s £2 million customer service hub at Access House, Hampton.

Addison Lee is one of Europe’s largest car services, completing more than 20,000 journeys daily in London alone. The business is expanding rapidly and in 2016 it acquired two competitors which has extended the company’s reach to the USA and Asia.

The enterprise is also investing heavily in its digital platforms with web based bookings already commonplace and a real focus being placed on its app. The vision is for the app to enable bookings in any one of 83 countries worldwide.

Peterborough was the favoured destination for Addison Lee’s new customer service hub due to its growing economy and young workforce which were seen as being key to realising the company’s plans for the future. By the end of 2017, the Hub will be home to some 250 staff with further expansion possible if required.

Following the opening ceremony, Mr Vara commented:

“I am delighted to officially welcome Addison Lee to Peterborough.

Peterborough’s position as one of the fastest growing cities in the country, together with its young, well-educated workforce, is making it one of the most popular destinations for expanding businesses and long may that continue.

It is excellent news that there will be 250 new jobs at Access House by the end of the year and I wish Addison Lee and its staff every success for the future.”
